Week 12 - - - Connecting through Music
As we enter the last full week of remote learning, staying connected continues to be important. I miss you all and being able to connect in person! I truly wish I was able to spend these last 10 days in person with you all, but as we cannot be together, this week, I would like you to connect with a relative or family friend outside of your home that you consider to be “Older” via phone call, Skype, FaceTime, Zoom, etc…whichever forum works best for you!
I'm so proud of all of your hard work and dedication for the past 11 weeks. Keep it up and finish strong!

There are two parts to this week’s connection...
Part 1: Chrome Music Lab
Using Chrome Music Lab at: https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/ explore the different musical activities they have to offer. While there, your assignment is to compose a song in the Song Maker App. Once you are satisfied with your song, I would like you to make your connecting call to someone “older” (a relative or a friend of the family, perhaps!) and play your musical composition for them. For an example, you can listen to the song I created in the App using the link below! https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/Song-Maker/song/4938639139143680 |
Part 2: Get Connected!
Now that you have shared your song with someone outside of your home, I would like you to ask them to teach you a song that they know from their own childhood. It could be a song they sang in school, one in a foreign language, one they were sung at bedtime, or maybe something they sang while doing chores! It may be a song you know, or something you’ve never heard before, but it will surely help with staying connected through music. |
