Week 4: Instrument A-Z
(4/6 - 4/10)
Take a Quick listen to this week's musical Parody by yours truly! Simply click on the link below and ENJOY! :) http://www.viewpure.com/IyNB-gSXVvs |
This week, using the 26 letters of the Alphabet, I challenge you to list ONE instrument (or more if you’d like) that you already know for each letter of the alphabet. You could set a timer for 10 or 12 minutes and see how many you can come up with, or this activity can have no time limit- Your Choice!
[Ex. G- Gong, M - Maracas, X - Xylophone]
Can you come up with an instrument for all 26 letters of the alphabet? Can you come up with more instruments than your siblings? Than your parents? Than your friends?
Parents/Guardians: Your students can all work together on one alphabet, or they can compete with each other! You can have your student work independently and compete against you, or you can work with them to see how many you can come up with!
If you get stuck and would like to find more instruments, I was given this awesome website from Wilson in Dr. Stearns' class that shows instruments from all over the world and even lets you listen to some!
Thank you, Wilson!

NEW THIS WEEK:
Genre Challenge:
Beginning this week, I will be adding a genre of the week for you all! My hope is that while you are completing your music assignment for the week, and maybe while you are eating your meals during the week, you can listen to some new or different styles of music than what you are typically used to. A simple search for each composer or each composer's famous works on Youtube will provide lots of listening examples! ENJOY!
This week’s genre is: Classical Music!
Some composers you could listen to are: W.A. Mozart, J.S. Bach, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms, or Frederick Chopin.
I think you will be surprised that you are able to recognize some of their more famous works!
PS! The Song I played on my Homemade Pan Flute last week was.........
Mary Had a Little Lamb!
