Week 9:
In this week’s activity there are two steps! The first step involves finding a quiet, calm, comfortable place to listen to the following three pieces of music (Listen for 2-4 minutes each). These three pieces have three very different feels to them creating different emotions in each listener and also creating different images in the mind of each listener.
You can watch/listen to the choices by watching the videos posted below or by clicking the youtube links.

Once you have listened to all three pieces, I would like you to choose the one that you like the most! As you listen to your favorite piece again (once or twice!) I would like you to draw whatever comes to mind on a piece of paper. You can draw shapes, lines, patterns, designs, a full scene, a story, etc. I encourage you to get creative choosing colors, images, and designs that match the emotions of the pieces. Make sure to be listening to the piece as you draw, and if you'd like to share your final artwork/puzzle with me, feel free to email me a photo at [email protected].

Think about: What colors or shapes match calm or relaxing emotions? Which ones match anger or fear? Which ones match happiness or joy?

**Genre Challenge!**
This week's genre is: A cappella!
Acapella is a genre of music performed without any instrumental accompaniment. The singing you will hear will be created by human voices, and the percussive and instrumental sounds you hear will be created by human voices and bodies. Many of your favorite songs are performed in a cappella versions – so I encourage you to try to find a few to listen to this week!
One a cappella group most of you may have heard of is the Pentatonix! Pentatonix is an American a cappella group that started becoming more popular after they won the NBC TV Show “The Sing Off.” Below is their a cappella version of a well-known Disney song from the Lion King that tends to evoke a warm, loving, happy emotion in me.
